Our team

The Team

The “Let’s Do It, Romania!” team is made up of several sub-groups, each of them with a specific role in the project.

The communications team’s members are as diverse as the messages they have to write. The team includes people with brilliant ideas, others who know how to motivate, some others who can write vivid texts and who love telling stories and still others who know how to build a well thought-trough strategy. Yet all of them have something in common: their wish to tell everybody the story of “Let’s Do It, Romania!”, and to enthusiastically summon inhabitants from all over Romania to take part in the greatest social project ever carried out in Romania.

During their meetings, they have a strong but constructive debate over ideas, drink a lot of tea and are always happy. You can find them every Thursday evening at the Reading Room of Teatrul Act in Bucharest.

Anamaria Hâncu

She started getting involved in ecological projects quite recently, but the time was enough for her to realize we have a duty towards ourselves and towards the following generations and that it lies within our reach to change something in order to enjoy a cleaner environment and some responsible co-citizens. She is perseverant, ambitions, and “Let’s Do It, Romania!” is her biggest challenge so far.

Oana – Raluca Brătilă

In short about herself: she thinks, she smiles, she laughs and she loves. And the longer version: she has two big hobbies: new media and people. This is how she got to start two online projects: apPRentice.ro and LiriK.ro and to be part of the Civika.ro, Lecturi Urbane and – of course – “Let’s Do It, Romania!” teams. She genuinely believes she can change the world we live in and she wishes us all to get to be smiling more.

Dan Fulea

He brings together paragraphs from Cioran’s On the Heights of Despair, words from Samael’s Sepultura, Tiersen’s bohemia, all practiced in Chopin’s style. He instinctively acts green and is passionately in the search of beauty. You can find the live results in “Let’s Do It, Romania!” and 34Life.org, and the literary expression here: www.stiribrasov.ro.

Cristina Tudor

She sets off from two words: communication and people. She adds up passion, optimism, trust and perseverance. She knows the world cannot change, yet she is sure that there is an option for everybody. Hers is “Let’s Do It, Romania!”.

Bogdan Apetroaei

Or, rather, JamayK; he studies Mathematics & IT at the Bucharest University, is a front-end developer at UnderWeb and sometimes a freelancer. He plays tennis every now and again and assists his coach with his online project coachcorner.ro. Even if being a novice in photography, he is a founding member of photowalk.ro. Recently he has also been the geek part of the communications team of LDIR… Bogdan’s day should seemingly count 30 hours at least.

The role of the volunteers’ coordination team is to recruit, work with people of different backgrounds and motivate … several hundreds of thousands of volunteers! They define themselves by what they are doing, they believe in walking the talk and they want to change mentalities and bring together people of value by means of the “Let’s Do It, Romania!” project. When everything is depending on us, we stand all chances to fulfill what we have planned to do by getting close to people, by our attitude, smiles and energy.

Ionuţ Tunaru

He listens to a lot of music, most of the time unusual one, he reads when he has time to, he works a lot and sleeps a lot at the end of the month. While in Iasi, he worked for the radio, he was employed by a street shop and he used to write for a magazine. He now works in Bucharest and he is enjoying it. He is about to finish the Faculty for Communications and Public Relations but meanwhile he is working for Oracle as a contract specialist and he additionally is in charge with coordinating the volunteers J.

Corina Anghel

Corina was born on July 27th ’88. She is studying management and psychology. She formerly wished to work in human resources but she changed her mind. She is coordinating teams and doing volunteer work. She currently presides over the Student Association DAfi (DaAfaceri) and is proud with its success. During her spare time she walks a lot, eats jelly and plays drama. In short, she’s a globe of enthusiastic energy!

Geo Atreides

He tells it right into your face: he doesn’t like to be part of the “Let’s Do It, Romania!” project, because this project shouldn’t have existed in the first place. On the other hand, he thinks that everybody should go out to picnic. Considering the current situation, he will look to it that things change, for good.

Simona Găureanu

She tries to lead a different way of life, a blend of art, nature and eco. She likes breathing the fresh air on mountain tops, together with special people. She cultivates playful positivism and the magic of emotions.

Ionuţ Mandanac

He decided to join the efforts of organizing this project because he believes in his potential of changing the face of Romania and of bringing together people by means of an extremely simple idea: cleaning the country in one single day. Whether we like it or not, whether we are aware of it or not, we have to realize that we are all involved; nobody can stop the Earth and get off!

The Logistics team is dynamic, well-organized and in a continuous search for solutions. All team members come up with ideas to the same end: the impeccable organization of a large-scale event.

Alex Zamfir

He started being concerned with ecological issues 4 years ago and he has been acting in this direction for 3 years now, by cutting down the consumption of power, paper, water, by selective collection and choosing those products and services with the least negative impact on the environment. He thinks that the relationship between man and nature will change for the better before it is too late, because it lies in our power to do so.

Mihai Dragotă

Fervent cyclist and eco volunteer, Mihai appreciates the opportunity that the logistics team offers him, namely to use his analytical organization and planning abilities. Mihai promotes ecological spirit in order for it to become part of Romanian society lifestyle and standard behavior rules.

Adela Dorodici

Adela is the type of person who likes getting involved in order to bring value to the environment in which she lives. This is why she joined the “Let’s Do It, Romania!” project. The Logistics team was the right choice, because it makes best use of her organization skills and their meetings are a continuous brainstorming.

Luciana Petroiu

Luciana likes coordinating a team and does very well with crisis management. She always backs up her colleagues and is a real team player.

Dragoş Toma

He’s the GIS guy, the geography guy. Under his wing, new specialists emerge, and under his eyes the logisitics of the project grows more practical. He is excited to use his know-how at a big scale, to take responsibilities and decisions, and also to reach for success with his great team. To do it with and for Romania.

The Japanese team is the mediator between project team members, but also in the relationship with the external partners (NGOs, authorities, public persons, companies, etc.). It identifies the possible sources of misunderstanding, tensions or even conflicts (either by directly participating or by info from members) and comes up with means and instruments of managing them.

It is this team who offers support and motivation to the members involved in project organization.

Sandra Ghiţescu

She has a lot of examples and case studies showing that you can bring spring even with one flower and that when it’s you who are the change you want to see in the world, the world cooperates and changes with you. She can hardly wait to add “Let’s Do It, Romania!” to her list of examples of “Yes, it IS possible, even in Romania!”.

Angi Anton

Her firm belief is that nothing is impossible as long as there is trust. All depends on will and on one’s conviction that it can happen – of course, backed by a lot of work. Bit by bit, she is sure that she will manage to complete this project together with her team. So … Let’s Do It, Romania!

Raluca Irimia

She is an optimist and she likes making the others see the full half of the glass. She loves mountains and takes every opportunity to hike. She’s, as a good friend puts it, alive.

Elena Marineci

Just before writing something about herself she caught a glimpse of an older campaign with the slogan “I CAN!”. The synchronization seemed interesting to her, because she joined the “Let’s Do It, Romania!” team for the same reason – because she knows that when several people with a common mission join forces, they can change the world.

Alexandra Stroe

She thinks the project isn’t about a certain group of people, but about all responsible Romanians who are convinced that their country, too, can be clean, and who fight for turning their hope into reality.

The financing team’s role is to obtain funds for the various materials that are necessary for the project. The rule it has to obey is not to accept direct financing for the project. This team opens the discussions with the potential sponsors as soon as it has obtained the estimation of necessary resources from the rest of the project teams.

Ştefan Buciuc

Stefan is an open person, who is determined to make change happen. He decided to join “Let’s Do It, Romania!” after seeing what was going on around. He hopes that this project proves to everybody that if one has got enough good will and one manages to gather around oneself enough enthusiastic people, one can do anything.

Adrian Enache

Adrian is a freshman at the Business management faculty of ASE. He is sociable and very open with regard to social involvement and extra-curricular activities. He is passionate about what he does and he thinks tomorrow can be better only if people get directly involved. He dreams of a diplomatic career, but he is also open to the possibility of organizing events.

Iulia Ghiţescu

She’s happy to meet people who have heard about the project and want to have a role in the Clean-Up Day. She was a part of many volunteering projects, but none of them with such great impact.

Adrian Vasile Dumitraşcu

He wants to help change things. This is the first volunteering project to have him as a participant and he believes he’ll succeed in what he set himself to do. He’s tired of all the indiference that surrounds usi and he’s convinced that we can influence the future generations.

The IT (Information Technology) team deals with writing the software for the trash map, managing the website and creating the intranet for the project, where team members carry out their project-related discussions. Further on the team will ensure transmitting information to the project participants and it will also provide reports on the quantitative situation on site (estimations on waste quantities, lists of volunteers who signed up, etc.).

George Claudiu Panainte

George believes that only those things that evolve organically are sustainable. He is ambitious and determined to finish what he started. He is easily stirred up when he gets involved into new projects, but he manages to keep his feet on the ground with regard to the objectives he has set.

Tudor Jitianu

Tudor wishes to support civic initiatives with his IT experience and is interested in sustainability and the natural environment.

Florin Mandiuc

He is excited about new web technologies and IT, but also about making it possible for people to use them.

The management team deals with project management for this activity in Romania. Its objective is to give the general direction of the project, to form and keep project teams and at the same time to attract partnerships with NGOs (environment, social, education, and culture), the authorities, private companies, public persons or even individuals, as well as to ensure the functionality of these teams.

Liana Buzea

She does not know how to and she does not wish to do anything else than eco-activism. Even if people often tell her that she is too enthusiastic and she expects in vain to see some real results in Romania, she has seen that it’s possible so she carries on.

Mirela Iordache

She is a person who believes in civil society and in the idea that together we can carry out projects that are useful to Romania. She is optimistic, she has been an ecologist for quite some time and she is trying to use resources (natural, human, financial, etc.) in a more efficient way. She likes to think of her as a responsible leader.

Iulian Ştefănică

Iulian is very well-organized, he likes order and logics, trying to increase work efficiency as much as possible. He is keen on sports (tennis and basketball). He also collects funny hats and costumes which he enjoys wearing, as well, and he plans to prepare a suitcase of party costumes.
